All research companies that are represented are bound by specifically agreed minimum quality standards of research design, execution, interpretation and how they relate to their clients. The member companies have a uniform approach to pricing and timing of projects, their activities being closely monitored by the code of conduct of AIRON. Members are designated operating territories in which they have local expertise, offices and a track record of success. Each member’s capacity in the designated territories is validated prior to incorporation into AIRON. Members have exclusive rights to their designated local territories.
By signing up as a member of AIRON, each member agrees to abide by the network’s minimum standards as they pertain to research ethics, pricing and general conduct. AIRON observes the ESOMAR code of conduct as a primary reference point for market research ethics. While the member is not enjoined to follow AIRON standards for independent research that is not conducted through the network, our standards are already so high that our members typically abide by them, and are chosen on the criteria of being able to work to exacting standards, thereby elevating the image of research in Africa. Our business model is therefore motivated by the desire for clients to experience consistent research quality wherever they may wish to do a study in Africa.
As is the existing trend, clients can approach the local area offices directly for research in specified countries or they can, for multi-country research, deal through the co-ordinating office in Johannesburg South Africa. AIRON companies have a special clause that prevents them from carrying out directly or indirectly any market research activities in each other’s designated territories. The co-ordinating office in Johannesburg will ensure that all countries that are affected by the research will be alerted within 24 hours and a collaborative, combined quotation issued within 5 working days. Clients are free to validate the credentials of our individual members directly with the members or by any other means available to them.
